Akraya Charity

The Akraya team finds it very important to give back to the local Silicon Valley community as well as support those in need. Our focus on charity truly sets Akraya apart.

Akraya is an active member of the Silicon Valley Leadership Group, an organization advocating for adequate affordable housing, comprehensive regional transportation, a sustainable environment, and business and tax policies in Silicon Valley. In this role, Akraya seeks to directly influence policy making and support economic health, equal chances and a high quality of life in California.

Currently, the Akraya management team is preparing to participate in the SVLG’s Women & Girls Leadership Summit as classroom speakers guiding young girls from underserved middle schools. Akraya is actively involved in the Astra STEAM Program, dedicated to creating opportunities for young girls in STEAM-related industries. And, we are a proud sponsor of Code for Fun, bringing the joy of programming to elementary-aged children in the Bay Area.

In May 2009, Akraya joined The Institute of Economic Empowerment for Women’s Peace Through Business Mentorship Program and became a mentor to two women business owners and entrepreneurs from developing countries like Rwanda and Afghanistan. As part of our ongoing dedication to this program, women business owner spent ten days with the Akraya team and received a crash-course on leadership, finance, HR, marketing and other essential business basics to enable their success. Akraya also supports charitable organizations such as the Sharnalayam Orphanage in India.

Akraya is a returning Gold Sponsors of the Race For Literacy, a charity event promoting literacy in India. In the last two years, the Akraya team joined forces to run the 5K and 10K race as a team standing up for an issue that is important to all of them.
